06/07 JANUARY 2011
The first 'real' snowfall around the area this winter, and a couple trains running on my time...
First was 23K with NS 9621-96??-8889 with a decent train. Time by Waverly: 08:00ish
Then NS 533 with NS 9794-9350-2739 and a long string of NS hoppers. By Waverly: 08:46
Late Afternoon brought the H88 (light power) and 38T. Missed the 12T just ahead of the 38T.
H88 - in the hole at CP Waverly with NS 8772-8422. West by Waverly: 15:18
38T - met the H88 at Waverly. CP 8508-SOO 6022 (nice surprise)-CP 5739 (almost 1990 again?)
Followed to Owego and caught the OHRY returning from the northland with 20 odd cars of scrap metal (litterally steaming). Sole power was OHRY 1811.
Also at Owego (parked at the time) were various MOW machines; including a HERZOG MPM (for more information: http://www.herzogcompanies.com/railroad_services_mpm.php )
Last couple pictures are from 06-JAN, a tale of locals on the Tier -- NS H88, H12, H13, and shortline LRWY.
NS H88 with NS 9052-5439 and a decent train at Chemung: 15:11
NS H12 with NS 8422-8772 (note this was 07-JAN's H88 power above) x-change with LWRY at Sayre
NS H13 with NS 3438-HLCX (ex-UP) 5956, tied down in the crowded yard.
LWRY with LS 3001-3003. Long string of cars brought up, and a long string brought back.
